Introduction. Female Genital Plastic Surgery, a relatively new entry in the field of Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, has promised sexual enhancement and functional and cosmetic improvement for women. Are the vulvovaginal aesthetic procedures of Labiaplasty, Vaginoplasty/Perineoplasty (“Vaginal Rejuvenation”) and Clitoral Hood Reduction effective, and do they deliver on that promise? For what reason do women seek these procedures? What complications are evident, and what effects are noted regarding sexual function for women and their partners? Who should be performing these procedures, what training should they have, and what are the ethical considerations?
Main Outcome Measures. 1) Reasons for considering surgery from both patient’s and physician’s perspective; 2)
Pre-operative sexual functioning per procedure; 3) Overall patient satisfaction per procedure; 4) Effect of procedure
on patient’s sexual enjoyment, per procedure; 5) Patient’s perception of effect on her partner’s sexual enjoyment, per
procedure; 6) Complications.
Methods. This cross-sectional study, including 258 women and encompassing 341 separate procedures, comes from
a group of twelve gynecologists, gynecologic urologists and plastic surgeons from ten centers in eight states
nationwide. 104 labiaplasties, 24 clitoral hood reductions, 49 combined labiaplasty/clitoral hood reductions, 47
vaginoplasties and/or perineoplasties, and 34 combined labiaplasty and/or reduction of the clitoral hood plus
vaginoplasty/perineoplasty procedures were studied retrospectively, analyzing both patient’s and physician’s perception

Vaginal reconstruction is latest trend for women
Right before Thanksgiving, Nancy, a 24-year-old woman who lives outside New York City, told her co-workers she'd be missing a few days of work to get a cyst removed. That little white lie covered up her real reason for missing work: She was going to have her labia reshaped.
Nancy said the surgery has given her added confidence and made her feel less inhibited about her body. Before the surgery, she said she would worry about what a partner might say when he touched her or saw her naked. "I feel so much more comfortable," Nancy said.
Dr. Robert Jason, the New York gynecologist and surgeon who operated on
Nancy, says the procedures exist because there's a demand for them. Women come to him because they have physical discomfort or they feel hindered because of the way their genitals look."There's always critics. The critics aren't the ones who have the problem. If they had the problem, they'd be on the bandwagon," he said.
About half of the genital surgeries Jason performs are strictly cosmetic, and labiaplasty is the most popular, said Jason, who has operated on women from around the country, including Chicago.
The vaginal rejuvenation is also popular, he said, and allows women to enjoy more sensation when they are with a partner.
"We're saving a lot of couple's sex lives," Jason said.

It was only a matter of time before cosmetic-surgery industry turned its talent to the female sexual organ. The list of procedures available in the world today includes lifts, snips, and G-spot collagen. Our intrepid female reporter takes a closer look. She quotes New York gynecologist (Doctor Jason) “We’re saving a lot of couples’ sex lives.” One Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute patient told the reporter that she had a couple of kids and her husband told her that “having sex with her was like tossing a hotdog down the hallway.” All the patients interviewed said you may have felt guilty or nervous before, but we would recommend the procedures to our friends. The latest project is called G-spot Amplification. The procedure provides increased sexual arousal and sensitivity. A woman who had the procedure (which takes minutes) wrote, “ All I have to do is think about sex and my toes actually curl. I would totally recommend this to other women.”

Surgery To Heighten A Woman's Sexuality
Robert A. Jason, MD, FACOG
For years we have been made aware of the benefits of male impotency drugs and enhancement surgery but, until recently, very little medical attention was directed to the physical and emotional aspects of female sexuality. Now, women are able to achieve sexual equality due to innovative vaginal

Forget the lip injections and breast implants: the hottest place for stars to get shot up with collagen this year is ...the G spot.
That elusive female pleasure point ---whose very existence was the subject of medical debate for years --- is the pet project of Dr. David Matlock, OB-GYN, Beverly Hills OB-GYN, laser surgeon (Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute) and passionate defender of a woman's rights to orgasms. Lots of them. The quick fix sex shot of collagen has patients experiencing joys of the G-spot they never imagined.
The whole thing takes less than a half hour and may sound like just another expansion of the cosmetic surgery empire. But there is one major difference. This procedure is all about utility, not vanity. It's a small price to pay for a bundle of joy.

Stress Urinary Incontinence
It is reported that more than 30 million women in America suffer from a common and embarrassing condition known as Stress Urinary Incontinence. This condition is simply defined as bladder leakage. Women with this problem cannot control when their urine. This embarassing leakage can be brought on by a myriad of every day activities such as exercise, coughing, sneezing, laughing or any movement which puts stress on the bladder…even sex. The cause is generally due to damage to the pelvic muscles as a result of pregnancy, childbirth, pelvic surgery, injury or aging Many women take to wearing adult diapers and find their quality of life negatively impacted. However, this reversible condition can easily be repaired by Dr. Jason. It is commonly combined with one or more of our trademarked Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation procedures.

Women aren't shy about sex anymore. Women who once thought it was enough to have cosmetic surgery to enhance their face, feet and torso, now have a new body part to fret about …their genitalia. Dr. David Matlock, who performs the trademarked surgeries at the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute, in Beverly Hills, has a four-month waiting list. Great Neck obstetrician-gynecologist Robert Jason, of the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute-NY, who trained with Dr. Matlock, has exclusive rights to the surgeries in New York and Long Island
Dr. Matlock says "There are 18 different types of medication for men for sexual dysfunction. Is there anything remotely similar for women? They have been left behind in this whole sexual-function business."
The practice isn't limited to the West Coast. Dr. Robert Jason. president of the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute in Lake Success, is the first to offer the service in New York.
That this practice originated in Beverly Hills is hardly surprising considering the popularity of so many other cosmetic surgeries in the entertainment industry. "There are more pioneers than we have on the East Coast," says Dr.. Jason. "Dr. Matlock has done hundreds, if not thousands ... everybody has been very happy."

For many women, sex is no longer as enjoyable or comfortable as it once was. As a result, their personal relationship with their partner is adversely affected. These women suffer in silence. These relatively painless and bloodless procedures not only make "sex feel better," they help the patient feel better about herself.

These procedures can be performed solely for aesthetic enhancement or to treat other medical problems such as urinary stress incontinence and vaginal stretching, sagging and aging.

Do you suffer from vaginal stretching due to childbirth or aging? Do you suffer from symptoms of stress urinary incontinence? He is the only physician in the Metropolitan New York region performing these exclusive, proven laser surgical procedures.

Designer Vaginas. The latest cosmetic surgery technique is female genital reconstruction. From remodeling the appearance of the inner and outer lips to reducing the diameter of the vaginal canal, which expands with aging, childbirth, or a combination of both, gynecologists and plastic surgeons are altering the private parts of women. At the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute of Los Angeles, 20 vaginal surgeries are performed per month. The theory behind the procedure is that increased vaginal tension will result in a heightened sexual erotic experience.

The new sex surgeries, a hot trend out of Hollywood, to prettify and pleasure-up your pantie-clad parts… The Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute states its procedures empower women with the choice and freedom to enhance sexual gratification…...…My labia were so long, they'd show through my clothes… Whether it's for a labial clip, a vaginal nip, or a pubic tuck, they're ---including some celebrities--- are signing up in droves. We found out that for the right woman, who enlists the right doctor, these procedures could actually work wonders.
Elle
Not all nips and tucks are about achieving a desired look: some are just about sex…. I was born with a naturally loose vagina, which made sex a disaster. After the Designer Laser Vaginoplasty and the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation, I can't even tell you how it made me feel…it was phenomenal
New Woman
Until my operation last year, I had always hated my vagina. When I looked in the mirror I could see my inner lips hanging down further than my outer lips. I felt like a freak Finding clothes to fit was a nightmare. But sex was the biggest problem. I'd been with my boy friend for 11 years but I always felt self-conscious when we made love. Then one day I was reading a magazine that said a lot of women have long labia and there's an operation to reduce the size. I paid 5,000 pounds for Designer Vagina. My boyfriend and I couldn't have sex for eight weeks but it was worth the wait.
Playboy
Although Laser Vaginal procedures are designed to enhance sexual sensitivity, about half the patients at the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute are for purely aesthetic changes. Vaginal plastic surgery is a trend among women… After the procedure, patients will say, "Wow, sex is great now and it even looks pretty."
Playgirl
First there were nose jobs, then came boob jobs, and now for the woman who has had every job, there's "vagi" jobs. The Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute completely resculpts and rejuvenates uneven or saggy labia or unusually long labia that cause pain during intercourse in a one-hour procedure. It reduces the diameter of the vagina making it tighter and heightening sexual experience. …You won't believe how good sex can be…Laser vaginal rejuvenation empowers women with choice to enhance sexual gratification.
Shine
Designer Vaginas: Forget nose jobs and face lifts, the hottest place to have cosmetic surgery is, erm, down there….She saved up to have cosmetic surgery and decided what she was going to plump for. She gave up any ideas she harboured of having liposuction one day and got her vagina tightened instead at the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Institute.

Woman's Own
Designer Vaginas: prettying up what's down there…..A lot of women bring in pictures from Playboy to the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and say I want to look like that. They're usually able to help everyone. All these alterations are done using Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation and Designer Vaginoplasty. Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation enhances tone, strength and control and decreases the chamber of the vaginal opening---in other words it makes it tighter. Designer Vaginoplasty improves the look of your vagina, removing blemishes and skin, and changing the shape of the labia…. Before I had the surgery, I felt my vagina was much older than I was and I hated it. I couldn't feel my boyfriend's penis when we had sex and it started to take its toll on our relationship. I felt really self-conscious and began to avoid having sex. After the surgery, my sex life has improved so much and we have more sex now than we used to have. It was one of the best things I've ever done.

The Hot Seat: Should OB/GYNs Offer Vaginal Rejuvenation?
by Robert Jason, MD and Kathleen Fitzgerald, MD
Vaginal cosmetic surgery is among the fastest growing trends in plastic surgery. Today, more than 140 surgeons in some 21 countries are providing these services in response to their patients’ demands.
Vaginal rejuvenation (colpoperineoplasty) is designed to correct vaginal relaxation and enhance sexual gratification.1,2 All OB/GYns are familiar with the signs and symptoms?cystocele, rectocele, enterocele, uterine prolapse, and stress urinary
incontinence?but little attention has been paid to the resulting sexual dysfunction. Approximately 30 million American women are experiencing these symptoms as a consequence of vaginal childbirth and/or aging. The damage to the muscles, fascia, and supportive tissue of the pelvic floor, vaginal canal, and perineum relax the fibromuscular tube of the vagina, leading to poor tone, strength, and control. In the process, the internal and external vaginal diameters increase greatly, and the perineal body thins and separates in the midline. The vagina can no longer function physiologically to provide optimum sexual gratification. Vast medical resources have... CLICK HERE to download the full article.
